crepe, with open cut neckline em
broidered in crystal and sea blue

pany, interest in both of which he

Carolina as manager of the News
and Advertising Division of the De
partment of Conservation and De
velopment. He resigned the latter '
position early in 1944 to devote his
time to writing and has contributed
to numerous Southern and national
magazines.

wedding. Friday evening, after the

town guests at Greenfield Planta
tion. The Greenfield manor was'
beautiful and reminiscent of olden
days with decorations of smilax and
candlelight. Mrs. W. H. Nixon ana
M rs. J. M. Vail served coffee from
beautiful old silver at the traditional
Edenon Tea Party table, and guests
enjoyed a most delicious supper
served with the true, old-time
southern hospitality.
After the wedding, the bridal cou-!
pie left for Atlanta, Ga., and Miami, 1
Fla. They stopped en route at
Rocky Mount for two or three hours,
where Mr. and Mrs. Brewer enter-:
tained in their honor. On their re
turn in March, Mr. and Mrs. Porter
expect to make their home in Ra
leigh for a few months.
