Yates, left Friday for the army re
distribution center at Miami Beach.

lough at home. Cpl. Yates had been

Funeral Held For
Motorcycle Victim
Dewey B. Ha.roll, 27, of Colerain.
I was killed Sunday afternoon in a
j motorcycle accident, near Colerain.
Funeral services were held at the
home Tuesday afternoon with the
Rev. Mr. Worrell and the Rev. Mr.
| Francis officiating. Interment was
i made in Colerain cemetery.
The young man is survived by his
; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Britton Har-I

Mrs. Badlnun, several years ago,
met with a similar accident at the
Dixon home, Beverly Hall, when she
fell, breaking, her hip. Both acci
{ dents occurred on a stairway in the
: Dixon home.
Mrs. Badham is; reported as. mak
■ ing satisfactory. progress, though it
■I is expected that she will be confined
in the hospital for at leasts two
months.

daughters to marry. Mr. Bennet,

designs, was Well-portrayed by Clar
ence Leary. The five daughters
were: Mary, clever and bookish, Bet
sy Goodwin; Jape, genie and beauti
ful, Joyce Harrell; Elizabeth, the
strongest personality, Emily Russell;
and the two youngest, Catherine and
Lydia, gay and flirtatious, Joyce
Brunson and Lois Reich. Ail were
beautiful in the striking costumes of
j the period and each was well fitted
for her part.

DIME SOCIETY MEETS
The Dime Society of the Edenton
Baptist Church met Tuesday evening
with Mrs. H. B. Jones at her home on
Queen Stieet. The meeting was well
attended and was one of the ‘best
held in recent months. After the
i devotional and business session, a
'■ social hour was enjoyed during which
the hostess served tea and cookies.
