Peanut Treatment Demonstration Days Arranged In County Treated Seed Results In Greater Yield, Accord- ■ ingr to Experiment l’eanut growers in Chowan County j are showing considerable interest in j treating their seed peanuts before planting this year, Last year K. J. j Copeland treated his seed peanuts' with Arasan for his entire crop ex-i eept for enough seed which were left 1 untreated, and planted in 16 rows as a check against the treated seed. ■ The untreated seed gave only about ; one-fourth of a stand. The treated ’ seed resulted in a perfect stand in the same field.. Mr. Copeland origin ally planned to leave the untreated seed rgardless of stand and check his results in yield hut the untreated seed resulted in such a poor stand he plowed them up and re-planted with treated seed, Plans are being made to hold pea nut seed treatment demonstrations and days throughout the county dur ing hhe first 10 days in May. A dia gram and suggestion sheet on ‘'Treating Seed Peanuts on the j h arm” was mailed to each peanut grower last week. Community pea- 1 nut treatment demonstrations and! days will be scheduled according to• VICTORIBUS I FIVE STAR I 'Paituaudd ' II I impcr'-c fc .
