Former Chowan Family Practically Wiped Out (Continued from Page One) the hospital. Mr. McCleney is a native of Cho wan County and lived here all of his life until a year or so ago when he went with his family to Virginia to enter defense work. They made their home in Chuckatuck, Va. He is sur vived by his mother, Mrs. J. F. Mc- Cleney; a brother, Carey McCleney, and three sisters, Mrs. Lewis Bunch, Mrs. Doughtery Bunch and Mrs. Fate Forehand, all of Chowan County. Surviving Mrs. McCleney are her mother, Mrs. W. J. Hill of Clarkton; sisters, Mrs. E. J. Bates of VHpington, D. C., Mrs. C. O. McKee! ana Mrs. Wade Robinson, both of Clarkton; and five brothers, Luther; Hill of Rladenboro, Dennis Hill of Clinton, William Hill of Council, Emery Hill of Abbotsburg and James C. Hill of Clarkton. A son, Glenn Hill, and a daughter, Mrs. Howard Cook of Bladenboro, by an earlier marriage also survive, A single funeral service was held Sunday afternoon at Cook’s Cemetery near Clarkton in Bladen County. Don’t think it’s fair to tourists for cops to hide and arrest them for speeding. I saw that done two weeks ago. They should be warned. We 1 should encourage tourists to drive through Edenton rather than drive them away. Tourists are to be treated as others. They travel and know about traffic violations.
