finance Committee will sponsor a
dancing class if enough pupils can
he obtained. A class of not less than
•ill members is necessary, since a
teacher from Norfolk will not con
sol r a s. aller class. Ail interested
j parents are, therefore, asked to eon
tact Mrs. Goodwin as early as pas
sible.
The Girl Scout Committee, headed
by Mrs. A. B. Harless as chairman
and Miss Louise Morgan as leader,
expect to start a renewed program
as soon as the organization is com
pleted? and a meeting place can he
obtained.
The organization discussed the va
cancy on the Edenton School! Hoard
of Trustees caused by the recent
death of \\. D. Pruden, and during
the discussion Mrs. James E. Wood
was mentioned as a capable successor
to Mr. Pruden.
A proposed nursery school was dis,
cussed in view of the fact that many
I parents could attend PTA meetings
! if they would have a safe place to
. leave their children during the meet
i ing. Miss Josephine Grant, home
| economics teacher, suggested that
I girls from her advanced groups would
j he available for one hour each meet
ing day of the organization, and that
j they would cooperate in making the
'proposed nursery school a success.
| John A. Holmes reported that the
school trustees had discussed a new
school building program for both
White and colored and that a com
mittee is studying present crowded
conditions in the schools.
The next meeting will be held
Tuesday afternoon, December ft, when
all parents and interested citizens are
urged to attend.
