Sara Hurdle Bride Os Raymond Lee Everett Edenton Couple Married In Raleigh Wednes day of Last Week Two Edenton people figured in a wedding solemnized in Raleigh last when on Wednesday afternoon HViss Sara Frances Hurdle, daughter Mrs, R. W. Hurdle and the late Mr. Hurdle became the bride of Raymond Lee Everett, son of George Everett and the late Mrs, Everett. The cere mony took place in the Poindexter Memorial Chapel of the Edenton Street Methodist Church, the pastor, the Rev. A. J. Hobbs, officiating. Nuptial music was provided by Mrs. Esther P. Marshburn as soloist and Mrs. J. Fielding Reed, pianist. The bridal couple entered the church together. The bride wore an afternoon dress of Bermuda blue silk with a bandeau of liles-of-the-valley to which was attached a shoulder length veil of blue bound with blue velvet ribbon. She carried a powder puff ' > mui * of l:lv-of-the-vn!tey cen tered v.-fth gard nias, ; showered with white -gin ribbon streamers and lilies-, S-ihe-v alley. Th thors were Howard Everett of Durham, brother of the bridegroom, and \> rr n Miller of Rah igh, Inu' ••diatejy following the wedding a reception was held at the Carolina Hotel. The guests were greeted at the door by Miss Alma Patrick, cou sin of the bride. The. bride's table was covered with a white tace cloth and was decorated with a crystal bowl of mixed flowers flanked by white tapers in crystal holders. \ crystal punch bowl, sur rounded by ivy, stood at one end of the table and the three-tiered wedding cake was served at the other. Miss Jeanne Cowper was at the punch howl and Misses Hetty Martin and Carol Everett, nieces of the bridegroom, as sisted in serving mints, mixed nuts and Cookies. Miss Emily Mallard was in charge of the guest book. After the reception Mr. and Mrs. Everett left by motor for Pinehurst. For traveling, the bride wore a grey suit with navy blue accessories and the gardenias from her bridal bou quet. They will be at home in Eden- 1 ton after March 15. Mrs. Everett was graduated from Edenton High School and during the war was secretary at the Edenton! USO Club. For the past several I •Tfconths she has been connected with First Citizens Bank & Trust Com pany in Raleigh. Mr. Everett finished high school in Edenton and attended Louishurg College before going into, the Army. lie now operates a gro cery store in Edenton. Monday evening Mrs. Esther P. Marshburn entertained the wedding party and friends at her home in Raleigh. Edenton people attending the wed ding included Mr. and Mrs. Earl Goodwin, Mrs. James T. The Warren Grove Club is grateful to John Beasley for the use of a window in the Cavalier Grill for a display of projects carried by 4-H Club mem bers. This display will be in the Cavalier Grill window from Monday, March 3, through Saturday, March 8. The Warren Grove Club has pre pared a special program for the week which will be taken to the other ten clubs of the county during the week for a chapel program. The min utes were read by Anna Lee Asbell, secretary. After Assistant County Agent Robert Marsh talked to the club about some chicks which can be bought, the club was divided with Mr. Marsh speaking to the boys and Miss Hazel Shaw talking to the glris.
