of Hotel Joseph Hewes, left Sunday
for a brief visit to Greensboro, lie
will arrive Friday to spend the week
end, after which he expects to enter
Duke Hospital. Mrs. Schwarze, a
member of the Edenton school faculty,
will remain in Edenton until the end
of the school term.

Hector Lupton, of Belhaven, were
brief visitors Wednesday morning
while enroute to Norfolk to visit Mrs.
Amanda Wallace, who underwent an
operation in General Hospital.

with membership at its present level,
current payments are rising rapidly.
A representative of the Association
will gladly call on any employer who
may wish to consider extending the
privilege of membership to his em

WOMAN BEARS 28th CHILD
Trafalgar, Ind.—Mrs. Lester Smith,
44, recently gave birth to her 28th
child, which was still-born. Sixteen
of the 28 are living and 13 are still at
home. Mrs. Smith has only one slight
regret. She wanted 12 sons and has
only 11.

Dr. Crawford Holding
Clinics At Columbia
Dr. George T. Crawford, local
chiropractor, began last week to hold
clinics in Columbia, which will be
conducted indefinitely. The clinics
are held each Monday and Friday af
ternoons, his offices being located in
the Columbia Hotel.
According to Dr. Crawford, quite
a few in the vicinity of Columbia are
taking advantage of the clinics.
Red Men Elect Great
Council Representatives
Chowan Tribe of Red Men at the
meeting Monday night elected rep
resentatives to the Great Council
meeting which will be held May 19
and 20 in Asheville. The represen
tatives elected were Raleigh Hollo
well and J. Edwin Bufflap, with
Clayton Hollowell and Jack Mooney
as alternates.
