An Antique Show
Affair Will Be Held In
Community House
On May 15 1 1
Members of the Colerain Woman’s
Club are making plans to entertain 1
antique lovers throughout Eastern
North Carolina and Virginia on May
/fl|s at the Community House with an
show and tea.
The show will begin at 2:30 in the
afternoon and close at 9:30 that even- |
ing. Antique dealers from various
parts of North Carolina will have ,
booths, display, and have for sale ;
many of their choice selections. There
will also be displayed antiques from
many of the Colerain homes.
Refreshments will be served and a
small admittance fee will be charged.
The public is invited and dealers
interested in having a display will
please contact Mrs. Grady I. Carriker,
president.
Chowan Red Men Tribe
Holds Annual Fish Fry
A goodly number of Red Men and
their wives attended the annual fish
fry of Chowan Tribe. No. 12, which
was held at the armory Monday night.
Present at the affair were a quartet of
Elizabeth City Red Men, including
Walter Cohonn, Thomas Boswell,
Charlie Mclver and Leslie Sherlock.
At the conclusion of the meal the
group was entertained by a string
hand composed of the following Eden
tonians: Jesse Miller, Sid Ward,
Ernest Owens, Casper Simmons,
Junior Lewis and Clarence Outlaw.
The Albemarle Four, a colored
quartet, also rendered several num
bers.

’Methodist District I
Meeting On May 6
Next Tuesday, May 6, a meeting of
the Elizabeth City District of the
Methodist Church will.be held at New
begun Church at Weeksville. The
meeting will begin at 9:30 A. M., with
the district superintendent, the Rev.
J. H. Miller, presiding.
There are 31 charges in the dis
trict, which represent about 100
churches, each of which is expected
to be represented at the meeting.
WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. Craig Haste celebrat
ed their 25th wedding anniversary
April 16 at their home, 411 LaSalle
Avenue, Hampton, Va. • About 50
guests were invited. The home was
beautifully decorated with white snap
dragons and red rose buds. Mr. and
Mrs. Haste received very nice gifts.
