KERO HOME DEMONSTRATION CLUBS OBSERVE ANNUAL ACHIEVEMENT MY \ I Group of Articles Will Compete In District Federation Colored Home Demonstration wo men held their annual Achievement Day Friday afternoon, October 24, in the Brown-Carver Library at 1 o’clock - with Mrs. Lula Welch of Green Hall Club, County Council president, The program opened with singing “America”, the Collect of Club Women of America was repeated after which invocation was given by Mrs. Minnie Holley of Hays Farm Club. Due to death in Miss Ruffin’s family, she was unable to deliver the address. However, Mrs. Eleanor S. Bennett and Mrs. Zenobia Edney, both of Edenton, gave encouraging and inspirational talks. The judges for the occasion were Mrs. Thomas I. Sharp of Edenton and Misses O. Bowser of Elizabeth City and Miss Eliza Jefferies, Negro Home Agent of Pasquotank County. Prizes this year were blue, red and white ribbons. The winners of the prizes were as follows: Church Dress—Mrs. Mattie Fay ton, first prize, Virginia Fork Club.
