Freo Surratt left Tuesday for Tabor City, where Mr. Surratt has been transferred by the annual Methodist Conference. Mr. and Mrs. Surratt were delayed in going to their new location until the parsonage at Tabor City was vacated. The occasion was in honor of Mrs. P. T. Owens, a very active member of the Society, who is to move to Newport News, Va., this week to es- ; tablish her home there. A handker chief shower was the predominant feature, each guest remembering the . honoree with a lovely handkerchief. The house was beautifully decorat- 1 ed with varicolored cut flowers. The • dining table was centered with a bowl of yellow mixed flowers. Mrs. W. W. Byrun* read a very , humorous sketch ’ of' the members after the handkerchiefs had been \ opened and displayed. Prizes were given a t each table and several additional gifts were auctioned off by Walter Holton, a feature which provided a good deal of merriment to the guests. Delicious refreshments were serv ed at the conclusion of the game.
