P Colored Hospital Auxiliary Extends Thanks For Music Choral Group Rendered Delightful Program At Hospital Mrs. Eva C. Cox, chairman of the program committee of the Woman’s Auxiliary of the Hospital, expresses many thanks to Miss Lula Tiliett and the High School Choral Group for rendering such beautiful music at the Hospital on Christmas day. The voices of the singers were beautiful and the manner in which i they presented themselves would p give credit to any group. S' Thanks also goes to the driver of . the bus who made possible the trans portation to and from the Hospital. Mrs. Cox thanks officials of the Hos pital for extending the invitation; as 1 well as the nurses and others who waited to hear the group sing Christ mas carols. Marion Copeland Bride Os Pasquel Annunziata The marriage of Miss Marion Cope land, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crackus Copeland of Tyner, and Pasquel Anthony Annunziata, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Annunziata of Norfolk, took place October 29, at 10 o’clock at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. F. J. Klemmer and the Rev. Joseph Bren nan on the altar. The church was decorated with palms, white gladioli and cathedral candles. Mrs. C. R. Davies played the wedding music with Miss Ann Marie Sullivan singing “Mother at Your Feet I Am Kneeling,” “Ave Maria,” “O Lord I Am Not Worthy” and “Panis Angelicus.” Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a powder blue crepe dress fashioned with a self looped neckline and around the hipline, flared skirt and mut sleeves. Her matching powder blue hat was trimmed with blue veiling and natural feathers. She carried a white prayer book show ered with brown orchids. Miss Ida Margaret Copeland, sister of the bride of Edenton was maid of honor and only attendant. She wore a pink crepe dress trimmed with matching lace, black accessories and carried a colonial nosegay of pastel flowers. Samuel Annunziata was his broth er’s best man. The ushers were A) De Casi and John Boylar.d. The bride’s mother wore a dark nolet crepe dress with black acces sories and a corsage of lavender or chids. The bridegroom’s mother wore a black crepe dress with matching ac cessories and a corsage of lavender orchids. A reception at the home of the bridegroom’s parents, 236 Ainsworth | Street, Norfolk, followed the cere | niony. Upon their return from a 'orthern wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Annunziata are making their home in 1 Norfolk. 1 The bride traveled in a green suit with brown accessories, mink furs and a corsage of brown orchids. The bride is. a graduate of Chowan High School. She also is a registered nurse of the DePaul Hospital, Nor folk. Mr. Annunziata served in the Navy and at present is a machinist specialist. NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special election will be held in the County of Chowan, North Carolina, on January 20th, 1948, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters 1 of said County, for their approval or disapproval, the bond order adopted by the Board of Commissioners of said County on November 3, 1947, and also the indebtedness proposed to be incurred by the issuance of the bonds authorized by such bond order. The bond order is entitled “Bond Order authorizing the issuance of $400,000 School Bonds of the County of Chowan” and authorizes bonds of the maximum aggregate principal amount of $400,000 to finance the cost of providing the additional school facilities hereinafter described and determines that such school facilities are necessary in order that the County of Chowan, as an administra tive agency of the public school sys tem of the State of North Carolina, may maintain public schools in said County for the six months term re quired by the Constitution of North Carolina, The additional school fa cilities consist of (1) erecting, equip ping and furnishing a new building to be used as a physical education building arid a new building to be used as a school garage building at the Chowan County High School ir, the Chowan County Administrative Unit, and (2) erecting, equipping and furnishing new buildings containing additional class rooms required for j the Edenton White Schools and the I Edenton Colored Schools, in the | ton School Administrative Unit.
