'Timber Subject At Club Meetings Extension Forester Lec tured Chowan Clubs Last Week J. C. Jones, extension forester, spoke to each of Chowan County’s 4-H Club groups last week, emphasiz ing the importance of conserving forest resources, various methods of cutting timber and explained several projects in forestry which 4-H Club •members can carry out. At three of the meetings Mr. Jones took the club boys on a short tour and showed them how to determine the age of pine trees by using an increment borer. He also showed them how to use a cruiser’s stick in estimating the amount of timber in a tract.
