Wednesday of last week R. W. 1
Grabber, Extension forester, was in J
Chowan County to assist with wood
land management. During his stay
in the county Leroy Boyce of Tyner
, was advised hoy to sell his tops from
timber cutting as pulpwood rather
! than allow them to waste. Mr. Boyce
and Archie Asbell, a neighbor, were
also advised on woodland manage
ment.
A visit to the North Carolina Pulp
Company holdings at Bandon revealed
a fair to good stand of pine reproduc
tion where scrub trees and bushes
were cut in the fall of 1946.
