C. State College On Friday night the Chowan Coun *i ty N. C. State College Alumni Club 1 entertained the senior boys from 1 Edenton and Chowan High Schools at 1 a fish fry. The affair was held at the Edenton Armory, after which ' moving pictures o£ the N. C. State -1 St. John’s basketball game were ’ shown. , I H. W. “Pop” Taylor, executive sec ’ | retary of the Alumni Association and Fred Wagoner, of the College Agron jomy Department, represented the I Alumni Association and the College. Fred Wagoner told the group about various phases of athletics at State College and he also gave a brief resume of the different courses of study offered. In the School of Ag ! riculture alone, there are 13 depart ments, and there are almost as many departments in the Engineering School. State College has probably (the largest textile school in the entire I United States. It is the only Agricul tural College in North Carolina, and is one of the few colleges in the South which offers a degree in For estry. State College has one of the best ceremic engineering schools in the nation. “Pop” Taylor explained about the present crowded conditions at State College, and said that there are 4,800 students enrolled now. New buildings are being erected as fast as possible to relieve the crowded conditions. State College continues to be North Carolina’s most useful institution, and is taking a lead in bringing about a higher standard of living for all' people of the State.
