Frances Privott Far Ahead In Standing Os Baby Contest Youngster Leads Both Groups With 10,199 Votes Walter Paul Herrin maintained the lead among the boys during the week in the Baby Contest sponsored by the Wesleyan Guild of the Methodist Church, while Frances Privott took possession of the lead among the girls. Considerable interest has been aroused in the contest, which is scheduled to come to a close at 6 o’clock next Monday night, May 10. Rebecca Colwell Elected President New Edenton Club Business and Profes sional Women Organ ized Friday Night At a meeting of interested women held Friday night, a Business and Professional Women’s Club was or ganized, with Miss Rebecca Colwell elected as president. Other officers elected were Mrs. T. B. Smith, first •vice president; Miss Mary Lee Cope land, second vice president; Miss Louise Smith, secretary; Mrs. John Lee Spruill, treasurer and Miss Fran ces Tillett, secretary. In the neighborhood of 60 women attended the enthusiastic meeting, which was held in the school library. The group decided to hold a din ner meeting every third Thursday in the month and to allow the charter to remain open until the meeting this month.
