The overall budget calls for an expenditure of about $3,000 more than last year, which is brought about by addition of a full-time nurse, as well ais the in creased cost of operation. The budget will be presented to the County Commissioners and Town Council, both groups .of which share in part of the expense, together with a Federal-State appropriation. Ward On World Cruise Valley Forge Scheduled To Return to San Diego In June George C. Ward, MMI, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julian E. Ward, Edenton, is among those participating in the cur rent world cruise of the USS Valley Forge (CV-45), the latest Essex class carrier. ' The voyage, first planned only as a Pacific cruise, has sent the 888-foot aircraft, carrier around the world in a westerly direction on an official good will mission. ' Since leaving California last Oc tober and pausing at Hawaii for ■three months, the Valley Forge has visited Sydney, Australia; Hong Kong; Tsingtao, China; Singapore; Trincomalee, Ceylon; Ras Tanura, Saudi, Arabia; Gibraltar; Bergen, Norway; Portsmouth, England and New York City. The carrier is scheduled to return to San Diego, Cal., via the Panama Canal, ending its long cruise in mid- June. . The global mission of over 40,000 miles took the ship through the Suez Canal, making it the longest vessel ever to transit the 100-mile water way.
