PAGE TWO James L Wood New President Os Rotary Installed at Thursday’s Meeting; Committees Named For Year James E. Wood was installed as president of the Edenton Rotary Club at the weekly meeting Thursday at noon. Mr. Wood succeeds Richard P. Elliott, who relinquished the gavel and at the same time presented the new president a Rotary president’s button. Mr. Elliott, too, was pre sented a past president’s button by Secretary C. W. Overman. Mr. Over man also, on behalf of the club, com plimented Mr. Elliott for the success ful year of Rotary under his able ad ministration, during which the club has attained its largest membership. Mr. Wood expressed his apprecia tion for the honor conferred upon him and in a few brief remarks empha sized the importance and opportunity of Rotary in any community. By ap plication of Rotary principles, he said, a club can be an asset not only to the community, but the State, nation and the world.
