PAGE SIX ClaraLeeCameron Weds John Privott Wedding Solemnized In White HOI Church September sth Miss Clara Lee Cameron, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex H. Cameron, and John Privott, of Chapel Hill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde 'Privott of Edenton, were united in marriage on Sunday evening, September 5, at 7 o’clock in the White Hill Presbyterian Church. The Rev. C. N. Voyles, of Gastonia, former pastor of the bride, officiated, using the double ring cere-' mony. In the decorations native pine was used as a background. The pulpit railings covered in white were en twined with ivy. Before the altar was a trellis with streamers of ivy flanked with seven-branch candelabra with cathedral white candles. To com plete the scene were tall baskets of white dahlias and small white mums. On the piano was an arrangement of white gladioli and dahlias. The re served pews were marked with bows of white satin ribbon and lace fem. Traditional wedding music was played by Miss Mildred McLeon of Sanford prior to the ceremony. Mrs. Margaret Stone was vocalist, accom panied by Miss Kathryn Ann Knight, both of Sanford. Promptly on the ceremony hour the bride entered the church with her father, by whom she was given in marriage. She wore a gown of pure Japanese silk, the material sent home from Japan by the bridegroom while serving in the U. S. Army there. The fitted bodice was finished with a sweetheart neckline with long fitted sleeves that peeked over the hand. The gathered skirt fell into a court train. Her fingertip veil of illusion net was caught back with a. spray of lily of the valley and her only orna ment was a brooch pin. The bride carried a bouquet of white orchids, lily of the valley and stephanotis. Miss Lucille Cameron was her sis ter’s maid of honor. She wore floor length dress of lavender organdy and wore lavender lace gloves. Her net veil of lavender was caught back identical to the bride’s. She carried a colonial bouquet of yellow mums and rose buds. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Clee Pierce of Sanford and Mrs. H. R. Peele of Edenton, sister of the bridegroom. * Both wore identical gowns of yellow organdy and carried colonial bouquets of pink rose buds. The father of the bridegroom was best man and ushers were H. R. The mother of ithe bride was dress ed in aqua two-piece and wore a shoulder corsage of pink rose buds. The bridegroom’s mother was dress ed in fuchsia crepe dress and wore a 1 corsage of white rose buds. Mrs. Pfivott, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Cameron, is a graduate of Cameron High 'School and received her business training at Teachers’ Training College, Boone, and King’s in Raleigh. For several months she has held a position with radio station WWGP, Sanford. She has also been active in White Hill Presbyterian Church and other affairs of the community. She is a descend ant of the Cameron family that once lived where the church now stands, ■ and was active in the organization of the church. Mr. Privott is a graduate of Cho wan High School. He saw service ' throughout the war in the Pacific theater of war. He is now studying at the University of North Carolina, where he and his bride will live. For going away the bride wore a , two-piece fall suit of yellow with brown accessories. She wore the or \ chid from her bridal bouquet. Those from Edenton at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Privott, Mr. ! and Mrs. H. R. Peele, Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Privott. From Guilford Col -1 lege, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Evans and Wallace Kirby of Roxboro, also Mr. and Mrs. V. C. Swans and daughter of Erwin and Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Cameron of Aberdeen. Directing the wedding were Mrs. W. A. Gaines and Mrs. G. P. Jones, i Immediately following the wedding! Mr. and Mrs. John Fields entertained 1 at their home in Sanford. Guests 1 were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. How ard Wilson of Carthage and were in troduced to the receiving line by Mr. 1 and Mrs. Fields. The receiving line was composed of Mr. and Mrs. Cam ■ eron, the bridal couple, Mr. and Mrs. ; 'Privott, members of the wedding ' party and Mrs. Kate Cameron, moth er of the bride. The reception room was decorated with fern and summer > flowers. On the buffet was an ar i rangement of white gladioli and dah lias. The table was covered with a hand-made lace cloth. The bride’s 1 cake was in the center with ivy car i rying out the color scheme. Burning • white candles were the only illumin : ation. I Mrs. P. L. The luncheon was served buffet style from a beautiful appointed table carrying out the bridal colors of green and white and consisted of baked ham, chicken, potato salad, sliced tomatoes, stuffed celery with deviled eggs, pimento sandwiches, pickles, hot biscuits, devil food cake, hot coffee and ice itea. Invited guests were out of town people attending the wedding, the bride’s family, Mrs. W. A. Gaines and Mrs. G. P. Jones.
