PAGE SIX Rev. W.L Freeman Speaker At Rotary Local Minister Discusses Woi*ld Council of Churches Edenton Rotarians at their meet ing last week listened to a very In- ■ teresting and informative treatise on the World Council of Churches, which was presented by« the Rev. W. L. Freeman, pastor of the Meth odist Church. Mr. Freeman referred U> the assembly held in Amsterdam, Holland, as the greatest event since the Reformation in the way of church unity. He pointed out that underlying principles of the various denominations are one and the same, but that only pithy differences sep arate them. “The world assembly,” 'said Mr. Freeman, “opened the way to con tinuous cooperation between religious bodies through its creation of the Council”.
