Edenton Aces Wallop Columbia High 32-0 hi Rain Friday Night Albert Lassiter, Jr., Has Misfortune to Have Leg Broken Edenton’s Aces encountered little trouble on Hicks Field Friday night in defeating Columbia High School’s football machine 32-0. The game was played in a continuous drizzle, which slowed up the play and caused quite a few fumbles by both teams. The Aces completely dominated in every department of the game, though the scrappy Wildcats never gave up in an effort to score and hold down the Aces’ counters. An unfortunate accident occurred early in the game when Albert Las siter, Jr., had the misfortune to break a leg. Play was held .up until an ambulance was summoned and the in jured boy taken to Chowan Hospital, ife is getting along as well as can be expected. The Aces’ line played a splendid] game, with the Columbia team being able to chalk up only two first downs, while the linesmen opened holes in the opponents’ line which helped to register 20 first downs for the Aces. Edenton started off fast, register ing four first downs after receiving the kick-off. Goodwin, Wheeler and Jack Habit all had a hand in getting the ball to the Columbia two-yard line, from where Goodwin crashed through the line for the first touch down. Goodwin’s kick was good for the extra point. About midway of the quarter Altman made a sensation 12 FULL GLASSES! PEPSI-COLA COMPANY OF ELIZABETH CITY, N. C. In two plays I Goodwin carried the ball to the Co lumbia five-yard line from where Jack Habit broke through the line to score. Goodwin again kicked the 1 extra point, making the score 14-0. Lane intercepted a pass to begin the second quarter and the Aces kicked after a fumble by Altman. For the remainder of the quarter the ball see-sawed back and forth with Columbia making its first first-down of the game. The Aces kicked to start the second half, but Columbia kicked. Spruill partially blocked the ball with the Aces gaining possession on the Co lumbia 39. On the next play Wheel er raced through the entire Columbia team for a total of 44 yards to score. Goodwin’s kick went wide. Near the end of the quarter the Aces had the ball on the Columbia 38, from where Wheeler crossed the touchdown stripe, but the play was nullified due to an Edenton penalty. As the quarter end ed Altman skirted end to score. Goodwin’s kick again failed to go through the cross bars. Columbia was thrown for losses to .start the fourth quarter and after the' Aces had the ball on the Columbia 26, Wheeler displayed a splendid piece of broken-field running to j score the final touchdown of the game. Goodwin’s kick for extra point was no good. The Aces were bidding for another score as the game ended with Good win and Wheeler lugging the ball to the Columbia 18 when the final whistle blew. But brotherl What they don’t know about hot rolls! Eating ’em, that ia, not making, because most fellowa couldn’t put soap and water to gether and get suds. Baking rolls is a Job for the Missus, and with Silver Mist Flour what a swell Job she does! Milk and honey haven’t got nothing on a Silver Mist roll when it comes to flavor. Real, honest-to goodness flavor, the kind of cant get-enough flavor that watermelon’s got in August and spare ribs In January. I don’t know whether Silver Mist rolls arc better than any others or not, bat they sure TASTE better. The Silver Mist folks tell me they got aome technical rea sons why their flour’s best, but all 1 know ia It’s got flavor. Yep, no matter whether it’s rolls or biscuits or pies or cakes or cookies or bread or paste for paper-hanging, you’re going to want to buy some Silver Mist Flour.
