Reports from the area indicated that a con siderable portion of the crop is still on stacks in the field. Farmers stock peanuts in all sec tions of the country continued gen-! erally at Commodity Credit support, levels in accordance with meat con- j tent and -the percentage of damage shown by individual lots. Movements, of shelled Number 2 peanuts to thej Commodity Credit Corporation from! the Carolina-Virginia area during the' previous week totaled approximately 885,000 pounds according to reports by the U. S. Department of Agricul ture. Slightly over 10 million pounds moved to the Corporation in the Southeast and about 2Ya million pounds in the Southwest. Total pur chases of farmers stock peanuts un der the peanut program through No vember amounted to about 223 mil lion pounds. MARRIED MEN NOW ACCEPTED IN AVIATION CADET PROGRAM Married men may now be accepted as Aviation Cadets, according to an announcement made by M/Sgt. C. B. Cayton, commanding officer of the Elizabeth City Army and Air Force Recruiting Station located at 202 Kramer Building. This change of policy is designed to give many young married men an op portunity to enter an Air Force career from which they were formerly ex cluded. Married cadets will be elig ible for dependency benefits, but they will not be allowed to have their de pendents with them during their training period. Qualifications for acceptance as an .
