PAGE FOUR ■ " ■ -=^ Ruritans' Stunt Program Tonight Seniors of Chowan High School Guests at Mon day Night’s Meeting The Chowan Ruritan Club met Mon day night in the Chowan Community Building when the club had as its gueists members of the senior class of Chowan High School. The address of welcome was given by C. J. Hollowell and the response by Leon Bunch, president of the senior class. A program of “stunts for seniors” was given with T. J. Jes sup and the Rev. J. W. Davis presid ing. Group singing was led by the Rev. Mr. Davis. Members of the senior class gave two musical num bers, accompanied by Miss Bernice White. Dinner was served by the Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church Missionary Society. The Ruritan Club will sponsor an amateur program and stunt night this (Thursday) evening in the Chowan High School auditorium and proceeds will go for the benefit of the High School Athletic Association. Mrs. Warren Entertains At Tea For Bride-elect Mrs. D. M. Warren entertained Thursday afternoon at her home at an informal tea in honor of Miss Ade laide Tuttle, whose marriage to Grady Merritt Chesson of Raleigh will take place Monday, April 18. The lower floor of Mrs. Warren’s . home was very attractively decorated in a color scheme of yellow which was carried out in candle decorations and jonquil and jasmine. Guests were greeted at the door by Miss Elizabeth Moore. In the dining room the tea table was laid with a •beautiful lace cloth, centered with an arrangement of yellow jasmine and yellow lighted candles in silver can- 1 delabra. Mrs. John W. Graham pre sided at the tea table. Hot tea, sandwiches, cheese straws, cookies, olives, assorted mints and Mexican pepitas seed were served. City Sponsored by the Elizabeth City Parent-Teacher Association, an an tique show and sale began at 11 o’clock Wednesday morning and will continue through 10 o’clock Friday night. Many prominent and well known dealers in antiques and related articles will bs exhibitors at the show and it is expected to be one of the most outstanding events of its kind ever scheduled for Elizabeth City. A very interesting and en tertaining program and delicious meal are being arranged by the host Murfreesboro Church. As a climax to this period of fellowship, the Rev. William P. Milne, pastor of the Aulander Baptist Church, will bring a short inspirational address on the subject “Faithful in our Social Ac tivities”. Reservations for the banquet are being received daily by the Rev. Warren F. Taylor in Murfreesboro and those who have not yet made reservations for their groups are urged to do so as early as possible in order to arrange to take care of all those who wish to attend the banquet.
