The building some months ago was 4 purchased from Ernest Kehayes, and was practically rebuilt from top to bottom and an extension added at the rear of the building. In the very near future the Red Men plan to stage a special meeting to dedicate the new home and meeting place. The lower floor has been leased to R. S. BONDS CALLED The Secretary of the Treasury has announced that all outstanding 2 per cent Treasury Bonds of 1949-51, dated May 15, 1942, are called for redemp tion on September 15, 194?. There are now outstanding $1,292,443,600 of these bonds. [Town Council j Proceedings j Edenton, N. C., May 10, 1949. The Town Council met this day in the Town office at 8 o’clock P. M. in regular monthly session. Present, L. H. Haskett, Mayor, J. Clarence Leary, J. P. Partin, W. J. Yates, Clyde Hollowell and J. Edwin Bufflap. The minutes of the previous meet ing were read and approved. On motion of J. C. Leary, seconded by Clyde Hollowell, the Town Attor ney is authorized to settle the law suit between J. T. Gibbs and the Town of Edenton in accordance with his best judgment. On motion of J. C. Leary, seconded by J. E. Bufflap, it is ordered that the clerk be authorized to insert an ad vertisement in The Chowan Herald once a week for four successive weeks giving notice of a meeting to be held on June 14th, 1949, for the purpose of considering the adoption of an or dinance to annex the area known as Albemarle Court to the territory in cluded in the city limits and likewise consider the annexation of the old railroad right-of-way lying between the present city limits and the west boundary of the S. E. Morris prop erty. On motion of J. P. Partin, seconded by Clyde Hollowell, the Electric & Water Department is requested to place a street light on Granville Street in front of P. H. Capehart’s store, also North Granville Street in front of State Highway Shop. On motion of J. C. Leary, seconded by J. P. Partin, parking on Gale Street between Broad and Granville Street is to be on the south side of street only. For violation of this or dinance, a fine of SI.OO is imposed. On motion of J. E.
