Basketball Teams Practice At Chowan Both boys and girls basketball 1 teams at Chowan High School are go ing through stiff practice sessions in preparation for the opening of the court season, and the teams are shap ing up well according to coach F. R. Rawles. Coach Rawles states that in the very near future, practice games will be scheduled with nearby schools, which will be played before the con ference games begin. Prospects appear bright for having strong-teams at Chowan High School this year, where games will be played in the new gymnasium. The party took the form of a Canasta Party, and this new game was played at 25 tables in the Chapter rooms of the local DAR in their newly acquired home, the . James Iredell house. The sum of $76 was realized. Qanasta and bridge were played and table prizes were awarded to the high score of each table.
