Many times we looked toward Heaven and prayed you wouldn’t be taken away, . But our prayers were never answered though we’ll understand it all some day. God saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb, So He took you to a beautiful home, and left us here to pine. How were we to know, dear Mom, to us you brought new life? You put your hand on our heaped up heart and cast away the strife. You’ll never know of the pain, dear Mom, of the nights bereft of sleep, Os the tears we shed and prayers we said and the promise we tried to keep. Deep in our hearts lies a picture more precious than silver or gold. Tis a picture of our dear Mother whose memory will never grow old. Now somewhere back of the sunset, where loveliness never dies, You live in the land of Glory with the blue and the gold of the skies. —Written by Cora Wright for our Mother. MRS. W. B. CAYTON.
