L Flp Elected Sachem Os Red Men Group of Officers Chos en at Meeting Mon day Night At the meeting Monday night of Chowan Tribe, No. 12, Improved Ord er of Red Mdn, officers were elected, with M. L. Flynn chosen sachem to succeed W. M. Rhoades, who was elected prophet. Other officers elected for a six months term were Horace White, senior sagamore and Jack Barrow, junior sagamore. Officers re-elected for 12-month terms are R. B. Hollowell, collector of wampum; W. J. Daniels, keeper of wampum; J. Edwin Bufflap, chief of records, and W. A. Munden, keeper of wigwam. These officers, together with theose appointed by the new sachem, will be installed at the meeting of the tribe Monday night, January 2. W. J. Daniels, L. E. Francis and J. Edwin Bufflap were also elected as trustees for the new year. Midnight Mass At* Local Catholic Church • On Christmas Eve At midnight, between Christmas eve and Christmas day, in joyful cele bration of the anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ, the son of God and founder of the Catholic Church, the Most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered in St. Ann’s Catholic Church, and includes an appropriate program of music and singing of tra ditional hymns, sermon on “Keep Christ and His Mass In Christmas”, Holy Communion, followed at once by benediction of the Most Blessed Sac rament, the other two masses starting at 9 and 11 A. M. Christmas, stated Father F. J. McCourt, pastor, who in vites everybody to all services. Confessions will be heard 1 there from 4P. M. Christmas eve to 6,7 to 10 and 11 to 11:55 P.
