It was announced that Mrs. Richard ’
B. Dixon has presented to the Chapter
a beautifully framed portrait which
she had painted. Mrs. Wood Privott
diseussed plans for a Colonial Garden
which has been made possible by the
generous giftrfrom the Edenton Junior

minded of the Golden Jubilee State
Convention, which will be held in
Charlotte on March 1, 2 and 3. Mrs.
Inglis Fletcher, noted authoress of
Edenton, will address the State group
on that occasion and delegates from
the local chapter are expected to at

Iredell House and adjoining buildings
in the future. Mrs. Fletcher said she
hopes that the main ,building will
be used as a civic center with its ideal
location, and that the several smaller
buildings on the property may be used
for social, civic and- youth groups.

followed by Patience with 11 points.

Hawaiian Sweet Potatoes
1 lb. swset potatoes* *4 teaspoon salt
(3 medium) 4 slices canned
3 cups boiling water pineapple, drained
74 cup Pet Milk % cup crushed corn
2 tablespoons brown flakes
Cook potatoes, covered, for 20 min., or
until tender in boiling water. Turn on
oven; set at moderate (375° F.).
Grease a shallow quart baking dish.
Drain potatoes; remove skins. Mash
potatoes thoroughly. Beat in milk,
brown sugar and salt. Put into greased
baking dish. Cut pineapple slices in
halvas. Arrange on outer edge of po
tatoes. Sprinkle corn flakes in center
over potatoes. Bake about 30 min., or
until thoroughly hot. Serve from bak
ing dish. Makes 4 servings.
*1 ‘/2 cups well drained, canned sweet
potatoes also can be used.
