ward Mosely & Nicholas Crisp &
their Successors Fee Fees in Trust

after make Execute & Acknowledge
such further Act & Acts, thing &
things, Deeds, Devises, Conveyances

the above Granted premises to the
uses above mentioned according to the
true Interest ft Meaning thereof as
the said Fee Fees or the said Town of
Freeholders ft Inhabitants of the said
Place or their Council only at their
Cost ft Charge at any time hereafter
shall Reasonably Devise, Advise, Di
rect or require according to the Laws
of Great Britain & the Acts, Usages
ft Customs of the Province.

In Deed Book M, page 249, is re
corded a gift of the land to the Board
of Trustees for the purpose of build
ing a farm life school, but the build
ing having never materialized, the
land remained the property of the
Town of Edenton.
•The instrument as recorded in 1914
follows:
Whereas in accordance with an Act
of the General Assembly of North
Carolina of the year 1913, Chapter
479 Public Laws, of the regular ses
sion, the board of Councilmen of the
Town of Edenton was authorized to
lease, donate or sell to the Board of
Trustees of the Chowan County Farm
Life School, the lands hereinafter de
scribed and: Whereas the Board of
Councilmen, at a regular meeting held
on the 10th day of February, 1914,
upon motion duly made, seconded and
carried unanimously, as will appear
from the minutes of the said Board,
directed a deed for the land herein
described to be executed by its Mayor
and attested by the Clerk of the Board
in accordance with the provisions of
the Charter of the Town of Edenton
and in accordance with the act of the
General Assembly of North Carolina,
aforesaid, now therefore: This in
denture made and entered into March
6, 1914 between the Board of Council
-1 men of the> Town of Edenton of the
first part and the Board of Trustees
of Chowan County Farm Life School.
