PAGE EIGHT News And Views Os The Senior Class BY NANCY BOSWELL Senior examinations are over and the Seniors have begun practicing their class night exercises, which are to be held on June 1. The title of the pageant is “The Senior Merry-Go Round.” The Sophomores will sing the Daisy Chain song as is customary The band will be an added attraction during the exercises. Members participating and their parts are as follows: Salutatorian, Suzanne Speight; Marie, Mary Dale iSpry; Jane, Lucy B. Cofield; Bob, Gary Martin; Janice, Fay® Dail; John, Charles Lee Over man; Louise, Ann Harless; Henry, Billy White; Class President, Richard Hoskins; Barker (or class Spirit), Johnny Owens; Commentator (or His torian), Keith Emminizer; Gordon, Jasper Gray; Julia, Joyce Webb; Jack, Ernest White; Dr. Weistein, Charles Lee Overman; Aviator, Billy White; Co-pilot, Gary Martin; Radio opera tor, Carroll Smith; Stewardess, Ann Harless; Orchestra Director, Ashton Morgan; Style Expert, Patsy Taylor; Models, Joyce Webb, Phyllis Comer, Mary Spry and Frances Brown; Flag pole sitter, Johnny GoOdwin; Valedic torian, Nancy Mae Boswell; Class History Participants, all of the Sen iors will participate in the interpre tation of the class history. . The particular parts of the Animal Trainer, Radio Announcer, Radio Commentator, Golfer, Columnist, Re porters and Cameramen, and the Tes tator have not been assigned as yet. Several members of the Senior class are entertaining the entire class at parties. Last Friday the Seniors treated the Sophomores at a picnic. Faye Dail and (Suzanne Speight had a picnic and hay ride on Tuesday right; Morris Small will entertain his classmates Thursday night. 'Last week the Senior project) “The Edentonian,” arrived and was distri buted to their owners. Many favor able and complimentary comments have been made on the yearbook. The Senior Class sponsored a T- Dance in the armory 'last Friday right. Several of such dances will be held during the remaining school ■weeks, the next one being planned for May 25 at 8:30 P. M. All of the dances will be properly chaperoned'. CIRCLE MEETS MONDAY The Ruby Daniels Circle of the Edenton Baptist Church will meet Monday afternoon at 4 o’clock with Mrs. H. B. Jones. Mrs. R. F. Cheshire Observes Birthday Mrs. R. F. Cheshire on Tuesday celebrated her 90th birthday, being one of the oldest citizens of Chowan County. | Mrs. Cheshire has been confined to her bed since November, 1948, but despite this fact she spent a quiet and pleasant day, enjoying visits of friends, as well as many congratula tory cards.
