During the month of September 180
persons in Chowan County received
old age assistance in the amount of
$4,504.50. Twenty-five cases of aid
to dependent children received $1,026
and 15 blind aid cases received $447.
The sum of $205 was expended for
nine general assistance cases and oth
er financial assistance included five
persons hospitalized in the county and
four hospitalized outside the county.
During the month one adult parolee
was under supervision, four persons
received veterans rehabilitation in co
operation with the Welfare Depart
ment, six child labor certificates were
issued, one person was certified for
eye examination by the State Commis
sion for the Blind and 25 children re
ceived individual service.

Church are announced as follows by
the pastor, the Rev. E. C. Alexander:
Bible School at 10 o’clock Sunday
morning; morning service at 11
o’clock; young people’s meeting at
6:30 P. M.; evening service at 7:30
o’clock; Wednesday Bible Class meets
at 7:30. Everyone is welcome to all
services.
