PAGE TWO Murphy Re-elected I ■ Wildlife Chairman ■ ■ ■— < Few Members Attend ■ Meeting Held In Cho wan Court House __ < At a meeting of the Wildlife Clubs of the First District, held in the Cho- ’ wan County Court House last week, Major J. A. Murphy of Dare County was unanimously re-elected district chairman. Other officers elected in- r eluded Tommy Gallop of Pasquotank 1 County, vice-president and Joe Peel of ‘ Pasquotank County, secretary-treasur- : er. Few members attended the meeting, but Mr. Murphy told of the progress made by the Wildlife Resources Com mission in budgeting funds, the use of the Pittman-Robinson Allocations pro viding for better habitat for game, and called for cooperation and better relationship with farmers. He also explained the Dingell bill and plans for use of funds to be derived from this bill. Mr. Murphy also urged delegates to attend the annual Wild life meeting which was held in Ra leigh Monday and Tuesday of this week. Miss Faye Boslin of Mackeys and Miss Norma Basnight of Manteo were chosen to represent the district in the 1 State beauty contest to choose “Miss ( Wildlife” of North Carolina. Youth Fellowship Conference Nov. 4; A ession of the Methodist Youtn Fellowship will be held in Kinston Saturday, November 4, from 11 A. M., to 4 P. M. Two special programs have been arranged, one for intermediates and adut workers with intermediates and the other senior-older youth and adult workers with youth. A feature of both sessions will be an address by Bishop Ricttard C. Raines of the Indiana area, who will speak on the November theme of “World Peace and the World Church.” CHRISTIAN CHURCH SERVICES Services at the First Christian Church have been announced by the pastor, the Rev. E. C. Alexander, as follows: Bible School at 10 o’clock Sunday morning; morning service at 11 o’clock; Young People’s meeting at 6:30 P. M.; evening service at 7:30 o’clock. Wednesday evening Bible Class meets at 7:30 o’clock. Every one is welcome to all Services. TAKE HOME BAMBY BREAD Sixty-one Stolen Cars Recovered In September Members of the Theft Bureau as sisted in the recovery of 61 stolen cars during the month of September, the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles has reported. The Theft Bureau also began in vestigation into the theft of 55 stolen cars. - Os the 2,743 trucks stopped, 2,333 were North Carolina trucks and 410 out-of-sftate trucks. One hundred and fifty-five trucks were found to have insufficient licenses, with 127 of these being North Carolina trucks and 28 out-of-state. Os the 19 trucks found to be over the road limit, 15 were North Carolina trucks and four were out-of-state. A total of $36,498.33 was collected in penalties and additional license fees, with $7,237.94 coming from ad ditional license fees and $7,440 from penalties on privately owned trucks. For hire vehicles brought in $16,661.- 39 in additional license fees, with pen alties amounting to $5,159.
