I THE SEMOR HEWSLETFER \
By HAZEL LEARY
■ Hi (Friends! On Thursday, November 2, we, the
Senior Class, held our weekly meeting. The meet
ing was presided over by our president, Mack Pri
vott. During the course oif the meeting Virginia
Downing iwas elected as Historian and Dorine 'Alex
ander was elected as Prophet on the Annual staff.
This week we have the biography of Esther Vir
ginia Downing. Mr. and Mrs. G. !W. Downing are
the parents of this nice young lady. Virginia was
bom here, started to school here, and is hoping to
graduate from here also.
«r* . . _ During her high school career rfhe has been active
Virginia Downing ; n suc h extra-curriculhr activities as the Spotlight
■ staff, the .Glee Club, the Annual staff, the FHA and
the Treble Clef. Virginia is interested in football,
dancing, music and “Joe.” Now, just a minute,
pleeze. I didn’t say which Joe.
Virginia’s future plans are secretarial work. She
now has a part time job at Malone’s 5-10-25 c Store.
About the only thing that Virginia dislikes are peo
ple with too much curiosity. 'So, betvare! Cuib your
curiosity around Virginia.
Keep on! We still have another biography to dis
pose of. Next we have a iboy whom you all know,
without Ray. Yes, I’m speaking of Adolphus Ray
Rav anmill without Ray.- Ye, I'm speaking of Adolphus Ray
y p Spruill. I’ll bet many of you didn’t know Ray’s whole
name before. Well, there it is. j.
Ray, who is a native Edentonian,
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. R.
Spruill. The band and the 'Student
Council have put some variations in
his school career. After graduation
he would like to go to the University,
of North Carolina, though he hasn’t
definitely decided on his future voca
tion.
By the way, Ray, which twin do
you really like? One time he’s with
one and the next time he’s with the
other. What’s the matter? Is it
that you can’t tell them apart yet or|
is it that they’re both so cute you
can’t decide between . them ? Well,
you’d better hurry and make up your
mind. You might lose both of them.
Who knows?
