Be
about her life. She was bom in Cbdwtn County on October 14, 1932. She
started school at Advance but transferred to Chowan School in the second
grade. We firat became acquainted with Rachel when she started to school
here in Edenton in her Sophomore year. While here she has been an active
meiriber olf the FHA. Her leisure lime is spent at the movies, singing, read
ing, and writing letters to Red. Keeping a diary and collecting movie boohs
are her hobbies and they really keep her busy, Rachel hasn't definitely de-
Cided on a future career as yet, thoiqjh
she has considered several vocations in
which she is interested. Good luick,
Rachel. I’m sure you have the: per
serverance to succeed in any vocation
of ybur choosing.
The next biography is that of one
of our local football heroes. He was
bom here in Edenton but later moved
to Manter We met him for tig. first
time when he moved back here last
year. /
Yes, you guessed it! It is none
other than Thomas Millidge Cannady,
better known as “Bqddy.” Buddy, as
,we all knofw, is a great sport enthusi
ast. He participates in such sports
as football, basketball, baseball, and
boxing. This year he is a member of
the Student Council and the Mono
gram Club. His only interests in life
are sports, eating, and sleeping. He
says that he isn’t interested in girls.
I’m just quoting him. I didn’t say
I 'believed him, and confidentially, I
don’t!
Buddy hasn’t made any plans for
the future as yet. With the world in
the condition that it is noiw maybe
Buddy won’t have to make any plans
because his future might be planned
by someone else already. Whatever
is in store for him, let’s hope it’s
nothing but good.
