This is the second year that club members have been given the opportunity of conducting indi vidual or team demonstrations on the conservation of one of our Nation’s greatest natural resources—the soil. (Leon Privott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest E. Privott, of Route 1, who lives near Small’s Cross Roads, and Jackie Morris, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Morris of Tyner, who lives on the River Road, will represent Cho wan Counity in the Team Demonstra tion Contest. Jackie Morris will also represent Chowan County in the 4-51 Speaking Contest which will be held in the Agricultural Building at Elizabeth City today (Thursday) at 10:00 A. M. Upper Chowan Asks For Improved Road A delegation from upper Chowan County was present at the County Commissioners’ meeting Monday arm ed with a petition requesting the State to hard-surface the Yellow Ham mer road, a distance of about two miles. The Commissioners approved the request which will be forwarded to the State Highway and Public Works Commission. FAMILY REUNION Fifty-two mmbers of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles R.
