Firemen Os Edenton
Annual Get-Together;
Held Thursday Night
Tribute Paid to Veteran
Fire Chief R. K. Hall
And His Firemen
Edenton’s Pire Department held its
annual banquet and get-together in
the fire station Thursday night of
last week. Practically every member
of the Pire Department and their,
wives were present, together with a
group of town officials and their
wives as special guests, when a barbe-1
cue chicken dinner was served by
Chub- Goodman.
Edenton’s veteran fire chief, R. K.
Hall, presided and after the meal
called upon quite a few ladies and
men to make a few remarks. Many
expressions paid tribute to Mr. Hall,
who holds the reputation of being
the oldest active fire chief in the
United States. The firemen, too,
were recipients of warm words of
praise for their ability and efficiency
in fighting fires and the splendid
cooperation and good fellowship
which prevails among the members
of the Fire Department.
