Capt Gilbert Hershey Is Injured jn Korea Wife of Former Miss Frances Overton of Edenton f Herald readers will be interested to know that Marine Captain Gilbert K. Hershey, son of Maj. Gen. Lewis B. Hershey, director of Selective Service, wag recently seriously wounded in Korea, Captain Hershey’s wife is the former 'Miss Frances Overton, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Overton of Chowan County. According to reporta, Captain Her shey was wounded in the chest, neck and upper legs and was moved to the hospital ship HISS (Repose for further treatment. Captain Hershey, whose wife and daughter live in ISan dement, Cal., was in the thick of heavy fighting in Korea immediately after the war started. He later returned to this rounty and was assigned as an in structor at Quantko, Va_, but on his insistent request was sent back to, Korea in June. He had been in heavy action at (Bunker HIH.
