SECTION ONE— Masonic Officers Installed For Year W. M. Rhoades Succeeds C. T. Griffin as Master In the presence of a goodly number | of members and a group of visiting Masons from Hertford and Elizabeth City, officers for Unanimity Lodge, No. 7, A. F., & A. M., installed at Thursday night’s meeting. The new master, W. M. Rhoades, was installed by the outgoing master, C. T. Griffin, while other officers were installed by H. A- Campen. Aside from the new master the fol lowing were installed: C. W. Overman, senior warden; Er-j nest Kehayes, junior warden; R. E. j Leary, treasurer; Louis George Wil kins, secretary: William W. Tenant House Burned On Charge Small’s Farm Eden ton firemen were called to the farm of Charlie Small near the Mace donia Baptist Church about 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. A two-story frame ; tenant house and its contents were consumed by fire, believed to have been caused by a faulty flue. Hospital Auxiliary Will Meet Friday Mrs. Ethel Swets Will Be Principal Speaker At Meeting The Chowan Hospital Auxiliary will hold its first meeting of the new year Friday afternoon, January 15, at 3 o’clock in the nurses’ home with the president, Mrs. Martin Wisely, pre siding. The principal speaker for the meet ing will be Mrs. Ethel Swets, wife of Chaplain William Swets. The main business to be considered will be the election of officers for the year 1954. The slate will be present ed by Dr. Martha Wood. At the close of the meeting tea will he served and it is hoped many of the members will attend.
