SECTION ONE— Edenton Jr.-Sr. Menu The menus at the Edenton Junior- Senior High School for the week be ginning Monday, February 8, are as follows: Monday Sliced bologna, cheese sandwich, dry lima beans, pickles, carrots, bread, butter, milk, peaches. Tuesday—Chicken salad on lettuce, green limas, beets, potato chips, crackers, bread, butter, milk, choco late block cake. Wednesday—Vegetable soup, sand wiches, crackers, bread, butter, milk, cupcakes. Thursday—Beef pan pie with vege tables, garden peas, apple sauce, milk. The greater portion of funds rais ed will be retained by state and local heart associations to support research, education and needed community car diac programs. Research into the basic causes of I the heart diseases, responsible for ■ more deaths than all other diseases combined, will receive top priority in the program supported by the 1954 Heart Fund. In accepting the Heart Fund chair manship, Dr. Vaughan said: “Funds subscribed by the people of Chowan County in this campaign will be used to fight diseases of the heart and blood vessels, both locally and na tionally. “These diseases take a greater toll of human lives than all others com-1 bined, a fact which underscores the| importance of a concerned effort to combat them through medical re search, professional and public edu cation and community programs.
