™ 11 « ' ™ ' " —- Peanut Growers To j Meet On March 26 Annual Meeting: Sched uled to Be Held In Neck Firsrannual meeting of the North Carolina Peanut Growers Association will be held in the high school audi torium in Scotland Neck on March 26, at 2:00 P. M., announces J. S. Sugg, executive secretary of the association. An interesting program to peanut' farmers has been prepared for that meeting. Dr. E. T. York, North Caro lina State College Research Depart ment, and Mr. Flake Shaw of the North Carolina Farm Bureau will be the two principal speakers. Approximately 50,000 peanut grow ers are members of the Association, and will be affected by its activities. It is realized, Sugg stated, that all of these people cannot attend the meet ing; however, it is hoped that many o fthem will be able to attend and that each county will be represented by people who will be able to carry the lessons learned back to their neigh bors. Winners Announced In Poster Contest (Continued From Page One) Rocky Hock School won first prize and Patricia Ward of the Chowan School won second prize. Fifth Grade—Erwin Griffin of the Edenton School won first prize and Curtis Twiddy also of the Edenton School won second prize. Sixth Grade—Frances Holton of the Edenton School won first prize and Janet Parrish of the Rocky Hock School won second prize. The poster prepared by Frances Holton was judged to be the best poster entered in the contest. The winners of first place in each grade received a cash award of sls. j The winners of second place in each grade received a cash award of $5. The over-all winner Frances Hol ton, was awarded an additional $5. •) The judging committee consisted of Mrs. T. B.
