SCOTT SAID IN RALEIGH: Feb. 26,1948 It might take SIOO million to fix up our roads. But I’m mindful of the fact that the Highway Commission says that every contractor has all he can handle, that there is a short age of men and eQuipment, and that we have funds on hand that have not been used. Let s use that money first before we start talking of bond issues. MR. SCOTT SAID IN JACKSON COUNTY: May 24,1948 It is ridiculous to advocate plunging the State into debt with a SIOO million bond issue . for roads. MR. SCOTT SAID IN SALISBURY: May 26,1948 There is no reason for increasing taxes toprovide expanded services. Nor is there need to plunge the State into debt with a bond issue. Scott Gave You Nothing!
