In Chowan County

Home Demonstration Agent
Last week the Home Agent attend
ed the sth Annual Crafts Workshop
at Camp Schaub in Waynesville, N. C.
Many different crafts were taught by
skillful craftsmen. The crafts were
copper, braided rugs, drawn work, leaf
prints, spatter printing, aluminum em
bossing, silk screening and drawn
work. Over two hundred agents and
Home Demonstration Club women at
tended this crafts workshop.,
June is not too early to begin plan
ning your fall garden. It is important
to keep every foot of ground busy
growing something all season. As old
crops Btop producing start new ones.
A good fall garden should include
snap beans, beets, lettuce, mustard,
kale, turnips, and turnip salad.
It takes a combination of foods to
keep fit. But no one food does as
much for you as milk and milk pro
ducts.

In a loosely played game on Hicks
Field Tuesday night Elizabeth City
defeated Rocky Hock 13-2. On the
mound for Rocky Hock were Paul
Chappell, Bob Harbison and F. Hollo
well, the trio yielding nine hits, but
their teammates made seven miscues.
For Elizabeth City Curtis was the
moundsman and gave up six hits.
The visitors scored four runs in the
1 opening round and exploded in the
sixth when eight runners crossed the
plate.
Edenton 7, Colerain 8
In Colerain Tuesday night the Co
lonials suffered their second setback
when they were defeated 8-7. Powell,-
Whitson, Ray Rogerson and Manager
Gashouse Parker did mound duty,
while Colerain used three pitchers
