SECTION ONE— SOCIETY NEWS SOCIETY NEWS Return Home Mr. and Mrs. John Brabble and chil dren have returned to their home in Colebrook, New Hampshire, after vis iting Mrs. Brabble’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Williams and other rela tives. u Visit Parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Parrish of Dur ham were guests last week of Mr. Parrish’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Y. Parrish, while enroute to New York to visit relatives. They were accom panied by Mr. Parrish’s mother to Washington, D. C., where she spent a few days and returned home Sunday night. o Sunday At Norfolk Mr. and Mrs. Donald Thomas and daughter, Donna Rae and Mrs. John Garrett spent Sunday as guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Dail in South Nor folk. Mr. Dail just returned home from a hospital after an operation for appendicitis. Week-end At Beach Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hughes, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Peele and son, and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Peele spent the week end at Nags Head. U Week-end At Nags Head Mrs. Sidney McMullan and Mrs. J. N. Pruden, Sr., are spending the week at Nags Head. Overman, County Agent. Eleven fields, spotted over the county, were surveyed Mon day. One hundred plants over each) field were examined. The counts were as follows: Ad vance, Woodrow Lowe, none; Enter prise, Lloyd Bunch, none; Edenton, Edward Speight, none; Rocky Hock, Ralph Dale, none; Cross Roads, A. M. Forehand, none; Gliden, J. D. Ward, nine (near gin) and McCoy Spivey, none; Ryland, T. L. Ward, one; Cen ter Hill, Tom Asbell, none. Many fields are beginning to square but generally, cotton is small. Several of the visitors complimented the local chapter on its progress and efficient manner in which the work has been carried on and predicted that the chapter will develop into one of the best in the district. At the conclusion of the meeting a social hour was enjoyed during which light refreshments were served. Prior to the meeting in the Court House, guests were served a chicken salad dinner in the Methodist C I kh, where an interesting program!
