Claude Griffin Leads Batting For Colonials! Winds Up Season With Comfortable Aver- age of .370 the Edenton Colonials elim-1 inated from the play-offs in the Albe- j marie League, a review of the statis- j tics shows that Claude Griffin was the leading batter during the season with | a percentage of .370. Griffin played first base and outfield, and during August boosted his mark by connect- | ing safely 16 times out of 26 times at bat. Griffin led the Colonials who went to bat at least 75 times. Whit- | son and Findley had a percentage of j .500 but the former went to bat only! 10 times and the latter four.
