THE CHOWAN HERALD. EDENTON. N. C„ THURSDAY, OCTOBER 21, 1954. Aces And Tarboro Play To 27-27 Tie Nip And Tuck Contest 1 Played In Tarboro Monday Night Following the hard-fought game with Tarboro Monday night, which re sulted in a 27-27 tie, Coach Bill Bill ! mgs’ Edenton Aces are being primed this week to meet one of their arch rivals, the Perquimans Indians, in ' Hertford Friday night. The Aces came out of the Tarboro ( game unscathed, so that, barring acci- j i dents, they should be in top form to I j meet their ancient rival. The Indians are riot as strong as in !previous years, but the Aces recall 1 that all too often in previous years I the Hertford team played an inspired game against them and won despite ! the fact they were considered the un- j ; derdog. Coach Billings is warning his I I hoys about the danger of over-confi- j ; d> nee and that major upsets still occur , on the football field, i Hertford has lost a conference game to Tarboro, so that on paper the Aces! should have a slight edge. The j Aces have lost no conference game, j although the Tarboro game ended in [ a tie. A goodly number of fans are ex pected to accompany the Aces to :! Hertford Friday night.
