National Peanut Week Observed March 6th To 12 th Proposed Zoning In Edent on Is Seriously Considered At Hea ring Held Monday Nigh t Number of Changes Suggested Before Action Is Taken A propusrd zoningnrdinnncp for Kdonton was discussed pro and con at a meeting held in the Court House Monday night, when S, Loigh Wilson of the North Caro lina League of Municipalities was on hand to explain all angles of zoning. The meeting was presided over by Geddes Potter, chairman of the Kdenton Zoning Commission and after stating the purpose of the meeting called upon Mr. Wilson to explain the plan as -submitted hy the Commission. Maps were on hand which desig nated the various areas to be '.adopted for residential-, business and industrial purposes, ami after explaining the mechanics of the plan, many questions wen* asked hy the goodly n uni her present, as well as suggested changes as to some of tile residential and busi ness portions as presented. All of the suggestions were re corded and will he ■considered at another meeting of the Zoning Commission before being submitted to Town Council for adoption or re jection. School Dentist Begins Work In Health District Dr. A. B. Edwards to Be In District Until July Dr. A, I!. Edwards, with the Di vision of Oral Hygiene, State Board of Health, began work in the l’as quotank, Perquimans, Camden, Cho wan Health District Monday, Feh ruary 21, titid will continue through July. Dr. Edwards, a graduate of tin school of Dentistry. Emory Uni versity of Atlanta, has hcen with the State Board for some time, lie will work in the white rural schools of all four counties and the Hert ford school before schools dose. A month before schools dose he will inspect the children in the grades in Elizabeth City and Eden 4on and will work for these chil dren after schools close. The chil dren will he given an appointment, and parents should see that the ap pointment is kept. Tn addition to lecturing to the children in groups on dentistry. Dr. Edwards will make correction for those children unable to pay their private dent ists for such work. Children from six to twelve years of age will lie included, hut not those older than twelve years. The Health Department feels fortunate to have this program which is sorely needed. V., and Iris wife, Mrs. Hildegarde Strauss, 17. Mr. Strauss died about iin hour after the accident and Mrs. Strauss died Friday night about (»:la o'clock.
