Mrs. John W. Crawford, State PTA President, has announced. Plans to hold the Institute at East Carolina Collette in Given ville were changed because a new dormitory at the collea:e has not been completed as was -xpeeted. Mrs. Crawford said. Miss Dema Kennedy of the Na tional Congress of Parents and Teachers field staff "'ill be aliens officials at the Institute and will consult with leaders at eonferemes, designed to promote more effective leadership training for PTA work j throughout the state. The Institute will open formally on June 20 at 8 P. M.. anil will; close at noon Thursday, June 22. ; Mrs. Bertha By rum Dies Friday Night Mrs. Bertha B. Bynim, died suddenly Friday night at ":20 o’clock at her home in the I!oaky Rock section. She "'.is a native of Chowan County. Surviving are her Husband. Rob ert L. Byrum; four son's, Robert I . Byrum. Jr., of Whaleyytllc. \.... Jessse E. Byrum, David K. Byrum and Joseph B. Byrum. ail of (Tin wan County: four daughters, Mrs. Robert G. Nixon of Kdenton. Mrs. Luther Ives of Lynh.iven. Va.. Mrs. Waverly L. Hollowell of Ho'ohsyilh and Miss Rosa 1.. Bvnmv at home: three brothers. Miles Bunch of Edenton, Jim Bunch of Norfolk and John Bunch of Colerain. Six ; grandchildren also survive. Deceased was a member of the Rocky Hock Baptist Church, where funeral services wer- held Satur day afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. L. C. Chandler, pastor of tin Center Hill Baptist .Church, offici ated and burial was in the family cemetery. Pallbearers were I.loyal I’Ve lei '.f. D. Peele, Wallace Peclc. He was a native of I’asfiuotank County but lived in Edenton 22 yours. Forj many years he was employed by the I Ailiemarle I’eanut Company.
