Methodist Youth of the Elizabeth
City District will hold their spring
rally on Saturday, February 16, at
First Methodist Church, Hertford,
.beginning at 10:30 A. M.
Using as their theme “1 Serve”,
the program for the day will cen
ter around the avenues of Chris
t'ar vocations ooen to young people
in tKeir.choicc of a life work. Mrs.
Elizabeth Tittsworth of Nashville
Tennessee, field" representative for
Scarritt College, will be featured
speaker for the day which will also
include announcement of nlans for
si'imtr .' activities an i introduction
to the Lenten reading oroject. The
Rev.. Gens Purcell of Ahoskie, will
lead a neriod of fellowship singing
preceding the inspirational hour.

District MYF president, will pre
side at the business session at
which time a count of representa
tives from each local church will
be made. Other district officers
who will apDear on the program are
Charles Henry James and Maude
Grey from Elizabeth City. Youth
from Mauteo. Gatesville, Belhaven,
Plymouth and Washington are pre
pai ing skits and role playing as a
means of presenting future activi
ties for the Methodist Youth Fel
lowship.

1 pkg. butterscotch pudding mix
1 can (14-oz.) pineapple tidbits
2 medium size bananas
1 9-inch baked pastry shell
Prepare pudding according to
package directions; cool. Stir i 1
drained pineapple and sliced be
nanas, reserving some of each for
garnish. Spoon into baked paltry
shell; chill. Garnish pie with whip
ned cream, pine apple and banana
slices.

John Thomas Nixon. 72, died
Tuesday morning at 10:40 o’clock
at. his home in the Rocky Hock sec
tion. A native of Chowan Couiuy,
he was a retired farmer and fish
erman and had been in ill health
for a long time.

Mrs. Isaac Harrell of Edenton, Mrs.

inclining; adoption of the 1957 b g
project—the purchase of an O.E.M.
oxygen machine with canopy. There
were good renorts from standing
committees, telling of tray favors,
flowers, mending and pruning
shrubs on the hosnital grounds.
