PAGE TWO 1-tECTION ONE Miss Louise Wilson WerisßobertMarsli Ceremony Performed In Evans Methodist Church Saturday The marriage of Miss Edna Louise Wilson, daughter of Mrs. James Christopher Wilson of Hertford, to Robert Stewart Marsh of Edenton, son of William E. Marsh of Monroe, took place Saturday afternoon, June 15, at 4:30 o’clock at Evans Methodist Church. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Earl Meekins, of Win fall, in a setting of white flowers, palms, ferns and lighted candles. A program of wedding music was presented by Miss Helen Walton Evans. Mrs. William W. Jakeman of Whaleyville, Va., sang Bohm’s “Calm as the Night” and “O Perfect Love” just before the processional, which was Purcell’s “Trumpet Voluntary.” The reces sional, was Mendelssohn’s Wed ding March. The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Crawford Wilson, of j Hamilton, Bermuda wore a waltz length gown of celeste blue silk organza and Chantilly lace, fash ioned with a sabrina neckline, short sleeves, lace shadowed bod ice, and a flared skirt of organza and lace. Her shoulder-length veil of silk illusion was arranged ; from a pillbox of matching silk ' organza. She carried a semi-cas cade bouquet of white frenched carnations and stephanotis, cen tered with an orchid. Mrs. Max Jackson of Chatta nooga, Tenn., was her sister’s ma tron of honor. She wore a bal lerina-length gown of sunset yel low organza over taffeta fashion ed with a bouffant skirt and a fold of the material tied in the back and extending the full length of the skirt. Her head dress was of matching material. She carried a semi-cascade of blue frenched carnations. The best man was Robert E. Jordan of Elizabethtown, and the groomsmen were Captain Thomas C. Wilson of Westover Air Base, Mass., Jesse Wilson, Charles Ov erman and James Griffin. The mother of the bride wore a gown of pearl gray lace and taf feta with an ice pink hat and an orchid corsage. Mrs. Edward E. Mcßride was the mistress of ceremonies. After the ceremony a reception was given at the home of the Zachariah Winborne Evans fami ly. Among those who assisted at the reception were Mr. and Mrs. Warner Evans, Mr. and Mrs. Ar thur S. Cooper, Jr., Mrs. William 'T. Foster, Mrs. Emmett Elliott, : Mrs. Ray Hollowell, Mrs. William W. Jakeman, Mrs. James H. As » bell, Mrs. Oswald Wiseman, Mrs. Nixon, Mrs. Eddie Nixon, Mrs. Rufus Stokely and Miss Ella' Mae Nixon. Later, Mr. and Mrs. Marsh left for a wedding trip. The bride traveled in a white pima embroid ered cotton shirtwaist dress trim med in lace and accented by a light blue satin belt. She wore also a white starched lace hat and an orchid corsage. • Upon their return the couple will be at home on Water Street. ' ' Pre-nuptial parties given in honor of the bride included a tea, by Mrs. Mack Rogersori, Mrs. Bob Godwin, Mrs. R. H. Copeland and the Misses Hattie Hudgins, Janie Haislip and Ceceilia Willoughby; a party by Mrs. Eddie Nixon. Mrs. Rufus Stokely, Mrs. J, I. Boyce and Miss Ella Mae Nixon; a show er by Mrs. Edward E. Mcßride, and a jhower by Mrs. Crawford Wilson and Mrs. C. P. Quincy. The members of the Extension Office, the ASC Office and the Soil Conservation Office enter tained the couple at a dinner at the Colonial Motor Court. Mr. and Mrs. B. Warner Evans enter tained the members of the bridal party and the families after the rehearsal on Friday evening. Order Eastern Star Calls Off Meetings Edenton Chapter No. 302. Or der of the Eastern Star, held a very interesting meeting Mon day night, the chapter’s final meeting until September. Guests were present from Elizabeth City. South Mills, Hertford, Coin jock, Wanchese and Georgetown, Va., including Mrs. Blanche Twiford of Elizabeth City, past worthy grand matron, as well as past and present district officers. Honored at the meeting were | Mrs. Maude Reeves, who last week was appointed district dep uty grknd matron, and Mickey Bridges of Wanchese, district grand patron. Mrs. Edna Reeves was also presented a gold seal certificate of award for outstanding work as worthy matron last year. The chapter, too, received a certifi cate of award by the Grand j Chapter. , During the meeting Mrs. Margaret Stanton and Dr. A. M. Mrs. Inglis Fletcher Speaks In Plymouth Mrs. Inglis Fletcher, author of the well known and popular Carolina series, will be speaker at the Washington County Pub lic Library at Plymouth Tues day, June 25 at 7:45 P.
