The demonstration, “Se lection of Patterns,” involved tak ing measurements to determine the size pattern best suited for each lady present. Generally, tape measures revealed a definite trend toward the larger—and those present had a jolly time comparing “inches.” Miss Maidred Morris, home agent, conducted the demonstra tion giving many helpful suggest ions on pattern selection and types. Plans were made to prepare and serve a dinner for an individual group on July 29. The annual club picnic for members and their families will be held at the Community Build ing on August 1 13, at 7 o’clock P. M. Each member was asked to carry a filled picnic basket for the meal. It was a gala evening with much laughter. Refreshments were served to the group by the hostesses, Mrs. Carlton Privott and Mrs. Percy Nixon. Mitchell, pas tor of the church, performed the double ring ceremony before members of the immediate fam ilies. The bride wore a white sheath dress, White accessories and car ried a white Bible, topped with white roses. Mr. and Mrs. Harrell left for a Southern wedding trip and since their return are making their home in Suffolk. Miss Ollie Jordan Dies In Hospital At Raleigh Miss Ollie E. Jordan, 18, died in a Raleigh hospital at 6:25 o’clock Monday morning after an illness of seven months. Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Jordan; a brother, Thomas A. Jordan of Edenton; two sisters, Miss Mar garet Ann Jordan of Fort Meade, Md., and Miss Frankie Mae Jor dan of Edenton. Funeral services were held at the Williford Funeral Home Wed nesday afternoon at 3 o’clock. The Rev. Philip Quidley, pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church, offi ciated and burial was in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
