Reinhrecht of Waterbury, Con necticut, was married in New York at noon on Saturday, De cember 21, to Lieutenant Burton Hathaway Jones. He is the son of Mrs. John Meredith Jones of Edenton and the late Mr. Jones. The ceremony was performed in the Navy Chapel by Chaplain Glenn Power. There was a small reception at the Officers' Club. Mrs. John- K. Robinson was the matron of honor and John Meredith Jones was best man for his brother. The ushers were Lieutenant (jg) E. G. Cooke and Lieutenant (jg) Joseph Popple. The bride attended St. Mar garet’s School in Waterbury, Lake Erie College in Painsvilje, Ohio, and Parsons School of De sign in New York City. The bridegroom went to the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and graduated from ithe University of North Carolina. He is a lieutenant in the Supply Corps, United States Navy. SHELDON F. GARDNER The wedding of Miss Ann E. Cofield and Sheldon F. Gardner was solemnized Cunday after noon, December 15, at 3 o’clock in an informal ceremony at the United Congregational Christian Church at Chapel Hill. The . bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Cofield, I Sr., of Edenton, and Mr. Gard -1 ner is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Gardner of Everett, Mass. The Rev. Charles M, Jones, pas tor of the Community Church of | Chapel Hill, conducted the dou ble ring rites in a setting formed | by altar vases of white snap ! dragons and white chrysanthe mums. Miss Elizabeth Wiese, of Lenoir Woman’s College, roommate of the bride, rendered a program of organ music prior to the cere mony. Selections included "The Lord’s Prayer” by Malotte; “O Hail This Brightest Day of Days” —chorale and prelude by Bach; “O Perfect Love” by Barnby; “Arioso” by Handel; “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by Bach. The Bridal Chorus from “Lohengrin” by Wagner was used as the pro cessional and the recessional was the “Wedding March” by Men delssohn. The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, Richard Erie Cofield, Jr., of Oak Ridge, Tenn., wore a ballerina length dress of candlelight satin, styled with scalloped marquisette yoke and short sleeves with long mitts of Chantilly that ended in points over the hands. Her shoulder length veil of illusion was attached to a half-net of can dlelight satin trimmed with pearls and • she carried a nosegay of white gardenias. Miss Lucy Bright Cofield of Burlington was her sister’s maid of honor and only attendant. She wore a ballerina length dress of lavendar net over taffeta and car ried a nosegay of pink carnations. Mr. had as his best man C. David Jenkins of Chapel Hill and ushers were Daniel and Lennard Pepper, both, of Chapel Hill. The bride’s mother wore an en semble of black wool crepe with a corsage of carnations. After a short wedding trip the newlyweds will return to Chapel Hill and after the first of the year will be at home in Los Angeles, Calif. For travel the bride wore a 2- piece dress of light blue jersey, ■ - ■ styled on sheath lines with a I white beaver hat and the gardenia] corsage from her bouquet.
